Alan Runner's Friends Book Review

This book is certainly an offering of food for thought, with revelations about life and people in general.

It is a narrative that is provocative in its ideals and sparks through its characters,

their thoughts, actions and personalities,

often giving a story during its story with the central character Alan Rainer within a story.

because of his backstory , one becomes aware of human nature. Furthermore, although the work is a fictional story,

the subject of their encounters and conversations is realistic, critical, and often thought-provoking,

Subjects such as astrophysics, cosmology, modern culture, racism, filmmaking, futurism, sex, dating, technology

as well as artistic endeavors.

Ultimately, as the protagonist of the story, Alan Rainer is an interesting characterization. He is intelligent, sociable, sizzling, film buff and occasionally,

works freelance as a production assistant.

Meanwhile, within the book's seven chapters,

each chapter centers around an encounter with a different friend.

In perspective, life is viewed through a diversity of attractive perspectives with each acquaintance.

Also in the game is the diversity of their backstories which allows for an in-depth

consideration of their thought processes while interacting with various aspects of the human condition.

First we meet Akhil Das, a high-school guidance counselor,

enthusiast of astrophysics and an unfortunate alcoholic.  Akhil and Alan interact on topics related to the beginning and end of cosmology and humanity.

Next,  Alan's friend Sadie Guildwood, a charming middle-aged woman who was once the lead singer in a semi-popular band, as well as a social media blogger.

Essentially the conversation of Sadie and Alan presents little sexual tension as there is a possibility of a romantic encounter

between the two that does not materialize, but hope for it rises in the air.

His talks include working as a musician to work in cinema, the future of humanity, future technology and transhumanism.  Additionally, there are excerpts from internal mentions about their likes and dislikes.

The pace picks up when the two meet an acquaintance of Sadie who takes things to an interesting turn.

A budding film director and teacher, Fred believes in the power of cinema to help people.

What emerges in this chapter is the reactions of the characters while waiting for an experienced criminal to come and audition for a film.

The remainder of this book contains chapters based on his parents, his pet Happu Ruby, as well as Pivet friends Carmen and Xinanulu.

Overall, the chapters and people and experiences of Alan Rayner's life make for an interesting, well-made story, embodied,

woven into a creative narrative with scenes of life with complex characters that are prevalent,  There are revelations, transfers and pulse racing.

Dave J.  Friends of Alan Rainer were enjoyed by Andre.

It was made for great reading, featuring a good science fiction engagement with a story and I suggest it for adult readers.
